GREYSTOKE MAHALE PEOPLE - Steve Ladd & Kiri Maloney
Steve and Kiri, both from New Zealand, came to our paradise known as Greystoke at the start of the season. Steve comes from a sailing background, so the wide open Lake Tanganyika is the perfect spot for him. Kiri comes from a tourism/hospitality background, working in travel and the restaurant business.
They ran a lodge in Cairns, NZ, before moving to Zambia in 2005 to work first for Kanyemba Lodge, then joining Norman Carr Safaris as GM's of all their camps. After two years they returned to New Zealand to run the exclusive fly-fishing Tongariro Lodge.
Africa beckoned them back and they're now happily ensconced along with the chimps and other residents of the Maahle Mountains.
